PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS:
SANJIBAN MICROACTIVE - 4000 MANURE BIO-DEGRADER
Livestock manure pits are today a major concern for all producers and neighbourhood communities. Gone are the days when the only problem was keeping the manure pit from caking and crusting. Today, strict environmental laws are forcing producers to look for new solutions to an old problem. New manure management processes can increase the manure's value, make storage and handling easier, while meeting stringent odour and run-off regulations.
THE PROBLEM: Foul odours are a common complaint in large confinement livestock operations. Manure pits or lagoons tend to develop thick crusts on the surface and heavy settling of solids forming sludges at the bottom. Settling sludges make agitation, aeration and pumping an expensive and time-consuming process. The sick, unbalanced condition of the lagoon produces foul pungent odours. The ammonia and hydrogen sulfide gases can lead to health problems for workers, neighbours as well as livestock.
The cause of these manure pit problems is quite simple: livestock wastes such as manure, urine, feed, straw, etc. all combine to make an unstable mixture that suffocates the natural biological microbial life in the pit. Healthy bacteria that normally break down the solid wastes into usable nutrients, die from "overload". The manure lagoon turns anaerobic due to lack of oxygen.
THE SOLUTION: BALANCING THE NATURAL MICROBIAL LIFE: The solution to a healthy manure pit is obviously to bring the natural microbial life back to a balanced state of activity. This can be achieved either by expensive mechanical agitation and aeration or by a simpler natural method that stimulates biological activity.
SANJIBAN MICROATIVE- 4000 MANURE BIO-DEGRADER: SANJIBAN MICROACTIVE-4000 MANURE BIO-DEGRADER is a liquid stimulator, developed from a complex fermentation process, easy-to-apply, non-toxic and completely safe. It is enriched with natural enzymes that activate and rapidly multiply the healthy micro-organisms that already exist in the manure composting pit.
As these micro-organisms go to work to biodegrade the waste, the digestive process in the compost pit changes from anaerobic to aerobic, which quickly reduces offensive odours and destroys pathogenic organisms. The synergistic action of bio-augmentation and enzymatic catalysts breaks down even the toughest of animal and plant wastes into a healthy, enriched, nutrient-balanced compost.
Sanjiban MicroActive produces large amounts of self-generating dissolved and free oxygen, which accomplishes aeration without turning the compost pit either manually or mechanically, thus saving both labour and energy. Sanjiban MicroActive-4000 is not a bacterial culture or odour masker and does not contain any live organisms or "bugs". The Sanjiban way is to "supercharge" the indigenous colonies of microbes that already exist in the manure lagoon. The waste is ultimately broken down into its elemental form.
The recycling of organic matter into humus, if not managed correctly, can limit fresh plant growth. Slow and incomplete organic matter recycling reduces nitrogen availability and increases the number of disease causing pathogens. Sanjiban MicroActive helps in killing disease-causing organisms more efficiently during composting. The destruction is brought about by the combined action of high temperature (aerobic condition), exhaustion of nutrients (bio-augmentation of microbial population) as well as natural antibiosis. The massive microbial activity stimulated by Sanjiban MicroActive effectively carries out bio-remediation of putrefying organic matter, thereby preventing flies and mosquitoes from breeding in the compost pit.
The biological activity stimulated by Sanjiban MicroActive helps the compost retain more nutrient value and prevent losses due to leaching or escape of gases. There is a marked increase in organic matter as well as micro-nutrients. The beneficial soil bacteria and fungi produce gums and hyphae that glue and bind soil particles together to form improved aggregate. Complete composting frees up nitrogen for fresh growth and prevents negative bacteria production. Sanjiban MicroActive, through a natural probiotic action, revitalises and rejuvenates the soil and plant system. Sanjiban MicroActive -4000 Manure Bio-Degrader is ideal for all livestock waste, dairies, piggeries, beef operations, horse stables, poultry, etc. MicroActive can be used in either semi-solid or liquid storage facilities. It is effective regardless of temperature or pH conditions, and works in both fresh and salt water, and in highly acidic or alkaline environments. MicroActive significantly improves the performance of most biological products and ecosystems under the most adverse conditions.
MAJOR BENEFITS OF SANJIBAN MICROACTIVE-4000 MANURE BIO-DEGRADER. * Controls odours - Ammonia and H2S gases. * Alters habitat, prevents breeding of mosquitoes and flies. * Digests crusts and solids. * Liquefies manure for easier field applications. * Increases manurial nutrient value in organic matter, nitrogen, potassium, magnesium, etc. * Leads to better crop quality and higher yields. APPLICATION METHOD AND DOSAGE: An initial shock dosage of SANJIBAN MICROACTIVE-4000 Manure Bio-Degrader will be necessary to dissolve the crusts as well as activate the sludge settled at the bottom of the lagoon. For best results, the crust has to be broken at a few places to provide access to the slurry. Spray MicroActive at the rate of 10 litres of Bio-Degrader (Dilution 1:9 with water to make 100 litres solution) over every 1000 sq.m. area. Simultaneously, introduce 10 litres of Bio-Degrader (dilution as above) into the bottom sludge layer, if necessary at a few places, over the same 1000 sq.m. area. This initial shock treatment should be repeated every three days, for the first 15 days, for a total of five applications. Thus, a 4000 sq.m. lagoon area (approx. one acre) will require a shock dosage total of 200 litres of MicroActive-4000 Manure Bio-Degrader concentrate. At the same time, a permanent trickling doser should be set up at the point of manure-waste entry into the lagoon. A daily dosage of 3 litres Bio-Degrader concentrate (diluted 1:9 with water to make 30 litres solution), calculated for every one acre manure-lagoon area, is to be trickled at the inflow point. Thus a one acre manaure lagoon would require a montly dosage of 90 litres of MicroActive-4000 Manure Bio-Degrader.

SANJIBAN MICROACTIVE - 6000 SEWAGE BIO-DIGESTER
As urban populations continue to grow, and as cities expand, sewage treatment and disposal, or reuse, has become a primary concern for all municipal and health authorities. Stringent new regulations require expensive and complex treatment facilities, dependent on external energy sources. Local neighbourhood communities are today critical of foul odours and inadequate treatment of sewage waters that cause harm to downstream aquatic, soil, plant and animal life.
Sanjiban MicroActive - 6000 Sewage Bio-Digester is a liquid stimulator developed from a complex fermentation process. It is composed of natural extracts and enzymes that activate and rapidly multiply healthy microorganisms already present in the activated sludge in the sewage treatment plant, such as protozoa, facultative aerobes and strict anaerobes. As these microorganisms go to work to biodegrade the pollutants in the effluent, the reduction in COD, BOD, nitrogen and phosphorous will increase rapidly. Sanjiban MicroActive produces large amounts of self-generating dissolved and free oxygen that help in reactivating the return sludge in sewage treatment plants.
ADVANTAGES OF MICROACTIVE - 6000 SEWAGE BIO-D9GESTER TREATMENT: 1. Reduction of H2S, ammonia and volatile fatty acid odours. 2. Increased diversity of facultative aerobes. 3. Increased carbon oxidation. 4. Improved dissolved oxygen utilisation. 5. Enhanced nitrification and denitrification. 6. Enhanced coagulation and flocculation. 7. Enhanced settling ability. 8. Reduction in sludge volume index.
SEWAGE ODOURS: Hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, and volatile fatty acids are common odours associated with municipal sewage and waste water plants. Odour control has become a serious and expensive legal liability. MicroActive - 6000 significantly enhances the diversity and population of facultative aerobes which thrive and multiply due to the release-action of ample quantities of dissolved oxygen.
CARBON OXIDATION: Sanjiban MicroActive - 6000 "supercharges" the colonies of microbes that already exist in the activated sludge, thus enhancing the production of short-chained carbon compounds. This results in markedly improved oxidation of carbon.
UTILISATION OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN: MicroActive - 6000 increases the operational efficiency of conventional activated sludge process plants, extended aeration plants, aerated lagoons, sequential batch reactors (SBR) and rotating biological contractors (RBR). The digestion process, aided by powerful natural enzymes, increases the population of diverse facultative aerobes. Much more oxygen is available to aerobic bacteria and protozoa which work with enhanced efficiency to oxidise short chain carbon compounds. Since lower population of aerobic bacteria and protozoa are now required for the digestion process, due to enhanced efficiency, there is a significantly lower sludge yield. MicroActive - 6000 discourages the growth of filamentous bacteria and reduces the chances of bulking of sludge. NITRIFICATION: MicroActive-6000 greatly enhances the nitrification process. TKN in sewage plus the proteins present in the dead biomass, are converted to ammonia. Ammonia in turn is converted to nitrite by nitrosomonas bacteria. Nitrobacter bacteria in turn convert nitrite to nitrate.
DENITRIFICATION: Facultative aerobes simultaneously remove nitrate nitrogen, thus releasing harmless nitrogen gas to the atmosphere.
COAGULATION AND FLOCCULATION: MicroActive-6000 encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria, smaller in size, producing denser flocs. Mature microbes produce a sticky polymer on their outer membranes. When bacteria come in contact with this polymer, they adhere in dense floc-formations which settle at a faster rate in the treated water, and thereby generate lesser volume of sludge.
SOLIDS DEGRADATION: The wastewater and dead biomass contain volatile suspended solids. These, along with fixed solids, tend to accumulate and bulk at the bottom of the aeration tanks and lagoons. The powerful natural enzymes in MicroActive - 6000 successfully degrade these solids into fatty acids, preventing bulking of sludge.
IMPROVED OVERALL FLOW HANDLING: Sanjiban MicroActive - 6000 continuously reactivates and stabilizes the returned sludge, as it produces large amounts of self-generating dissolved and free oxygen. Thus the activated sludge process is modified to "contact stabilization": i.e., the activated sludge process is modified to increase the capacity of treatment as compared to conventional plug flow. Use of Sanjiban MicroActive helps to modify existing conventional process at zero cost and increase the capacity of treatment.
APPLICATION METHOD AND DOSAGE: Sanjiban MicroActive is a to be introduced into the "return sludge point" on the first day @ 2 litres MicroActive concentrate per mld, (to be diluted 1:9 with water), as a shock dosage to kickstart the remediation process. Repeat the same dosage on Day -4. Thereafter, from Day -7 onwards, maintenance dosage of 333 ml./mld of MicroActive is to be applied daily.
